Think Thin Thursdays (er Friday) Week 5

I will admit that I was kind of a slacker this week. I really didn't exercise and was doing more snacking than I have been lately. That said, I did try to keep an eye on the portion sizes and keep up with the water....

The bad news- I would say I did not meet my goals for the week because of said slacking.

The good news- I didn't gain any weight despite my bad behavior. In fact... the scale is down a bit- like .3 lbs. Not much, but I will take what I can get.

I hope to have a better week this week. I would like to lose at least 1 lb. I have started doing some reasearch about Maui for our honeymoon and am realizing even more that I don't want to carry all of this extra weight around Hawaii! I have a goal in mind for the wedding/honeymoon and it is going to take some work to get there. I think I am going to see if my workout buddy is ready to start up with our evening workouts again. I think they will make a huge difference!

Think Thin Thursday's- Week 4

Well, it was another good week. I managed to lose .8 lbs. While I would like it to come off faster, I appreicate that it is healthiest to lose it slow and I can accept that. I think for this week I am just going to keep doing what I have been- it seems to be working so far. I would really like to start working out after work again though... thank goodness my workout buddy will be back in town next week-- hopefully she will be ready to rock. We motivate each other!

My breakfast is usually oatmeal when I get to work. I like it because it is cheap and easy and fills me up. Those are all good things. I usually have a cup of coffee as well.

Thanks to everybody this week for all the words of encouragement and support. We can do this!!!

Think Thin Thursdays- Week 3

So... it was a good week! I did really well with the water and probably just OK with the exercise. I was being conscious about the portion control though, and I think that really helped. On Sunday the Wii Fit said I was down 1.1 lbs and the regular scale said about the same. YAY. I guess slowly but surely is the way to go.

This week I am going to continue my previous goals but also try to cut out late night snacking. It is tough because Josh is always snacking late at night and its so easy to reach over and grab a few chips or a piece of candy when I DONT NEED IT. Everytime I want to snack this week I am going to get up and drink a glass of water.

A website that helps me with my dieting is allrecipes.com. I love all of the different recpies... and the nutrition info is right there so its easy to decide if I want to make the recipe as is or try to find something lighter. Also, every recpies has reviews of other users who have made it. There are usually calorie/fat cutting tips from other users that are very helpful.

Think Thin Thurdays- 1/8/09

Well, my goals last week were to excersice more and drink more water and less soda....... And the results..... I did! I got back on the Wii Fit and surprisingly had not gained any weight over the holidays! YAY! And, I did much better about the water. I am not cutting out the soda completely, but did make myself reach for a huge glass of water a few times a day vs. grabbing a can of soda.

I got on the scale this morning and was down a bit... probably about 1 lb, but I can live with that!

My goals for this week are to keep up the soda and exercise routine. I would like to try to get the 30 day Shread in at some point as well. I really need to start working on some toning for the wedding.

Think Thin Thursdays- Week 1

Happy New Year!

In honor of 2009, I am going to re-join my friend Bridgette for Think Thin Thursdays. My goals for this week are as follows:

  1. Get back on the excercise train. I fell off after I injured my knee in Puerto Rico, but the knee is feeling much better now. The Dr. said there isn't anything majorly wrong with it and I feel like exercising will only improve it. I think it is realisitic for me to plan to Wii Fit at least 3 times this week.
  2. Drink less soda, more water. I will freely admit that I am addicted to diet cherry coke/pepsi. I love the stuff. But, I have been drinking WAY too much of it lately and not drinking enough water. My goal will be to drink the proverbial 8 glasses of water each day.

I think that will do it for this week. Obvioulsy I am going to try to limit fat and calorie intake by controlling portion size, but I don't have any specific goals for that this week.

Think Thin Thursdays

My good friend Bridgette started this challenge on her blog, the Not So Blog. Always up for a good diet/exercise challenge (I need motiviaion, like really bad) I jumped at the chance to participate.

So, here goes. My overall goal is weight loss, which is something I have been working on for oh say... my whole life. In fact Bridgette and I first met in an online forum about 8 or 9 years ago on ediets. Our group has managed to stick together! With the wedding coming up, I would really like to tone up and lose some of the extra weight I have been carrying around. I think it makes me feel older and is contributing to the aches and pains I have been experiencing.

My goal for this week is to work out today after work and Thursday after work (which I have already tried to talk myself out of twice today and its only 6:54 AM... maybe writing it down will help.) I leave Friday morning for PR and am not sure how much working out would get accomplished down there, so I figure the least I can do is attempt to get a few good work outs in before I go. Further, my goal is to not go apeshit in Puerto Rico. For some reason, travelling has always ended up being like some kind of food orgy for me. I don't know why- maybe my mind thinks that if I don't consume the calories at home they don't count?!? I dunno... but nonetheless, that is my goal.

We are supposed to post a goal every week and then weigh in and blog about our experiences. I will do so tomorrow and then will try to remember to do the same when I get home from PR next thursday, although it might be Friday morning since my flight gets in really late.
